Large thin semi transparent silk chiffon scarf. I believe this is influenced by woodcuts done by the artist Paul Gaugin in the 1890s while he was in Tahiti. The words Nave Nave Fenua evidently mean 'delightful land' in Tahitian. Not sure when this scarf was made. Hand rolled edges. Small fabric tag reads 100% Silk, Made in Italy. Measures 32 x 24 inches. In good pre-owned vintage condition. ***Photos taken with and without flash***
